We walk by faith, not by sight. Not always seeing, but believing. Not without sorrow and grief, but with hope and confidence. But until such time that the Lord takes us to be with Him, either by claiming his Church or when each of us comes to the end of our earthly lives, we must stay vigilant and discern truth from fiction, both in and outside the church.
The world is clearly a powder keg, waiting for a single spark to set it off. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus so that we may see you in your full glory and majesty, and to afterward, be united with our Brother, our Shepherd, and our Friend, who is today basking in the light and love of his Creator for whom he served so well.
We do not know what God has planned for FBC or who he may call, but we do know one thing. The truth will continue to be shared regardless of the road we must walk, as long as God gives us life and breath to do it. Steve will be dearly missed, but the legacy he left behind, and the hundreds of online messages, will continue to reverberate throughout the ages as God's message to us through his servant. We are all better having known Steve, and we look forward to reuniting with him and our loved ones once our work here is done.
SPECIAL NOTE: Due to Steve's leukemia, he was ineligible to obtain life insurance so a special family fund has been set up for the Mitchell Family. Please go to fbchapel.com as you are led and considering designating a gift of any size to that fund for a family who, more than any of us, are deeply mourning the loss of a husband, father, brother and son but whose faith has been a testimony to the power of the God we serve.
